Many of your projects will involve working in small teams to deliver a concept solution to a real client partner. Together, you’ll be responsible for managing the project from end-to-end, including research, identifying a problem, and presenting your solution.
This allows you to build a portfolio of project experience and delivery, to present, reference and discuss at job interviews – helping you to stand out in the job market.
The industry is changing fast, and having the ability to adapt to change is crucial, and our degree will help you prepare for this.
Our project-based learning approach is rooted in developing not only your technical, but also the broader skills fit for the workplace: communication, team collaboration, project management, commercial awareness and adaptability.
Our course content is co-designed by industry professionals, who inform us on what is most needed in specific subject and project areas to ensure that you’re well-equipped for future jobs.
Design Director, AKT II
Professional student membership: For our engineering degrees, we’re an affiliate organisation of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) and the Institute of Engineering Designers (IED) which gives ASU London students membership and access to their related events and wider resources.
We’re working towards accreditations for our business and computing degrees.
You’ll be regularly signposted to internship opportunities and every student is given free access to ‘Handshake’, a career development platform which allows students and graduates to discover employers and job opportunities, submit applications, and attend careers events.
Our founding industry partner, British Land, is a leading UK property company. They support our ambitions for an industry-led curriculum by delivering live projects and collaboration opportunities around their flagship Canada Water Masterplan. This will deliver a new high street and town square, where all buildings will support low carbon living.
This partnership means that throughout your studies you’ll get to work on innovative urban design projects that support the Masterplan and will have an impact on what the future of our local area will be like.
If you’re an individual or organisation looking to collaborate with our students and learn how partnering with ASU London can help you tackle real-world problems, then we’d love to hear from you.
