Recent Engineering UK data shows that 61.9% of white engineering and technology graduates were working in the engineering sector within 6 months of graduation compared to only 41.6% of black engineering and technology graduates. This scholarship is a positive action specifically targeted at increasing participation by black students in the engineering workforce after graduation.

If you have a student loan, scholarships can either go towards the cost of your tuition fees or maintenance costs. They are awarded following an application process.

Eligibility

To apply you’ll need:

– Self-identify as being a black student

– Have a Home fee status

– Holding an offer for:

  • Global Design Engineering
  • Engineering with Artificial Intelligence
  • Engineering with Mechatronics Systems
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering

– In receipt of a student loan or self-funding your studies.

How much could I be awarded?

£1,500 per year of study

These scholarships will be offered on a rolling basis to those holding an offer for the eligible courses.

Things to note

Students may be in receipt of more than one ASU London scholarship at any time during their studies.
